Biography

Captain Otis Nelson is an experienced leader and veteran of the Alliance who has served as commanding officer of the privately operated fleet carrier Moonshield since 3309. He began his career as an independent merchant pilot, gaining a reputation throughout the galaxy for his outstanding navigational skills and tactical expertise.

He then joined the Alliance military, where he served in the defense forces for several years. His skills and dedication earned him a position in President Edmund Mahon’s personal guard fleet, where he served as a flotilla captain. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic security of the presidential fleet and enjoyed the president’s full trust.

However, a personal tragedy forced him to give up his military career. Seeking a fresh start, Nelson took command of the Kaukomieli, a privately operated fleet carrier. When the carrier was later sold and commissioned under the new name Moonshield, Nelson remained in his role as captain and guided the ship through the transition period.

Today, Captain Nelson is a respected leader, known for his unwavering courage and foresight. He draws on his extensive experience to ensure the well-being of his crew and the success of the Moonshield’s missions.
